Yes, they are.
I have Tethys as standard and tried some Orestes but went back to my originals.
Both are 7.5 x 17"

Thought the ride would be harsh but it isn't. My 2008 S60 does have 4c though. In sport mode (which I think is too soft still) is a decent ride imo, but some of the pipe smoking, wallowers and mpg watchers might disagree.
You'll be travelling faster than your speedo indicates so bear that in mind if you're close to the road limit.
Only 1mph out with normal driving but up to 2mph near 100 and that could be the difference between a ban or just a fine + points.

Creweman says, "Only 1mph out with normal driving but up to 2mph near 100 and that could be the difference between a ban or just a fine + points."

All true but doesn't everyone live by the GPS now-a-days? PLUS, I don't know about there but here "just a fine + points" can add up to thousands of bucks! Our points live on for 5 years in the insurance companies' book$.

Banning would be the result of a second or third DWI or felony evasion conviction (backing away from a road check, for example) or a major vehicular involved crime.

We don't call 'em "cocaine dealer wheels" for nothing. Kira

A really great and QUIET RIDE without "bounce and wallow", terrific grip in the wet or dry and all for around £55 fitted and balanced per corner takes an awful lot of beating.

Hi ASt85. You are knowledgeable on Volvo's and I see you have a C70 (2005 - Mk 1 ?)
I have a C70 Mk1 2004 and was looking at fitting wheel spacers but there is a lot of uncertainty over the wheel bolt thread size for this vehicle. Have you confirmed your cars bolt size ? At the last review I came back with M12 x 1.75mm Thread Tapered 60degree Seat and thread length of 28mm long.
I'm considering 10mm spacers per side (total 20mm / axle) have you heard of anybodies experience with this mod ?

They wear more quickly.
The wheels are damaged much more frequently. HOW MANY threads regard wheel straightening?
The fancier they are the more likely they are to be stolen.

You bring the parade, I'll bring the rain (as the saying goes).

If you're awash with cash, send me some! I mean, go ahead and enjoy vulnerable wheels-you can afford it. Kira
One more (very important) disadvantage of 17/18's for the 00-09 models: the turning radius becomes very disappointingly large!!!! Having said this, I do have 17's and they do look good. :-)

My summer 17's are 225 and my winters are 235/45/17's. I do find the ride a bit harsh on less than perfect roads but then again I also have Bilstein HD front shocks on...

Here's a tire website that provides useful x-reference info.

I have always shied from fitting spacers on heavier cars as I'm not entirely sure that wheel bearings cope too well with the effective increase of load ie if you think of the widened axle width as a lever acting on the bearing, it will probably increase the rate of wear unless the wheels' vertical centres still act through their designed point in the bearings.

My only experience of wheel spacers was some I used on a mini to fit 5J offset rims within the arches many years ago, whilst they appeared to improve the road holding the handling in the wet was appalling as the force per unit area on the road was great decreased - narrower tyres hold the road better in the wet, wider tyres in the dry.

When it comes to C70s, mine is currently shod with 225 x 45 x 17 Y's front but 245 x 45 x 17 Y's at the rear - that's what were fitted when I bought the car. Re the bolt size, they are the standard size fitted by Volvo - I replaced the Mcgard lock bolts with standard C70 chrome bolts bought from Minty.

This is what I found - the C70 has a unique thread even to Volvo of 12 x 1.75 which makes it difficult to get threaded spacers or extended bolts.

I raised the post to see if there was any experience of C70 spacers in the group.

And thanks for the nostalgia. My experience with wheel spacers was also with mini's - starting with 0.75inch /side ending up with 1.5inch/side and 6.5J rims (constructed by hand by parting off and welding in a fillet - because (1966) you could not buy them) The wide-est tread tyre we could get were Firestone but these still ran with the bead wider than the tread. Wheel bearings and top and bottom joints lasted 6 months if you were lucky. But it 'really' lapped Aintree Circuit on club night.
