Volvo's system is a little behind when it comes to syncing and uploading/downloading call lists and contacts. Very few phones will work unfortunately.
My Nokia E75 does work however. The E51 that I had before did not sync contacts, only the actual phone. You can, however, manually upload all your contacts by sending them as "Business Card" via Bluetooth to your car once the phone is connected to the system. They then get stored in there. Works well once all done.

It is also a bit unfair to criticise Volvo when it is not them who change the capabilities and interfaces of the phones on the market. If the manufacturers stuck to the agreed standards then this compatibility would not be an issue - after all the Volvo bluetooth has been there for a while, meeting the standards, if the x6 has moved on from that standard, hardly Volvo's fault ![]() As far the x6 goes, haven't as clue, but worth checking the phone manual ![]() http://www.volvocars.com/uk/sales-se...s/default.aspx Last edited by wimorrison; Apr 26th, 2010 at 09:49. I do not agree.
Reason for this is based on my own experience with other car makers system that always seems to download/upload contacts, made calls, missed calls etc when getting in or out of the car (Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar). Volvo's only does this on some phones. Even older phones that are "compatible". Connection to Bluetooth works like a charm however, for me at least.

Surely it depends on which version of Bluetooth that is implemented. Not sure what standard Volvo is but many of the mobiles now have a more advanced standard.
"On April 21, 2010, the Bluetooth SIG completed the Bluetooth Core Specification version 4.0, which includes Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth high speed and Bluetooth low energy protocols. Bluetooth high speed is based on Wi-Fi, and Classic Bluetooth consists of legacy Bluetooth protocols." Last edited by Teejay1; Apr 26th, 2010 at 14:24. |

The Volvo system supports this. I stand by my statement that the Volvo internal Bluetooth phone is excellent and that it pairs correctly with more phones than other systems I have seen or used - it has worked with all phones I have tried and worked correctly - after I have configured the phone (in Nokia phones) to allow remote access to the phone book ![]() |
