Default Which Parcel Shelf with Roller Blind Do I Need?

Hi
I have a Volvo 940 Estate 1992 (J Reg), it has no rear parcel shelf or fittings. I am wanting to fit (if I can) a rear parcel shelf with roller blind, can anyone tell me what one I will need and if possible where I can find one.
If anyone has a photo of what I am looking for please can you share them with me, as I am looking on ebay and have seen 2 different types on there. Currently looking at one which came from a 1998 940 estate but i am not sure if this will fit or not?

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks

That one will fit, but it is not a parcel shelf one. What colour interior do you have in your car. I have a grey parcel shelf roller blind, in excellent condition, but will have to dig it out to get pics of it.

Hi thanks for getting back to me. The interior is grey part leather, how much do you want for yours and does it come with all the fixings, as the car has none at all at the moment. I don't think it has ever had a parcel shelf/blind in it. Our car is the 7 seater (seats in the back) will this make a difference i.e. can we still fit a parcel shelf/blind with these when they are folded down?
Sorry about all the questions but we are new to volvos, even though we have now got 2 940's which we brought within a year.

Many thanks

You have to remove the parcel shelf if you raise the 3rd row seats. The only fittings that you need are two hooks to hold the roller blind out, and 4 twist to lock fasteners that secure the parcel shelf to each side of the car. You have to drill 6 holes and do a little bit of filing, but its nothing difficult.

I have one that I'm about to fit to my car. I'm considering using velcro to secure the parcel shelf just to avoid drilling holes I might later regret...

Before I sourced the correct fasteners to secure The Volvo's parcel shelf type load cover, I tried securing it with Velcro bought from Woolworths, but it didn't really work, as the stuff didn't have the strength to hold the shelf in place during acceleration, leading it to become errant on several occasions. Perhaps I would have had more luck with industrial strength Velcro or Command Strips? In the end, I used long wood screws heavily wrapped in black tape in lieu of the broken fasteners - crude but effective for over four years

It has the 4 twist screws, but I can not find the two hooks for the rear. The plastic bag I attached to it is still there, but there is a hole in it where the hooks have come out, will have another look under all the stuff in the office, but can not promise anything. Will get some photos tomorrow for you.

Hi 940SportsEdition thanks for looking and I look forward to seeing the photos - have you any idea how much you want for it. I missed out on the one on ebay so am really interested in your one.

Chris and James thanks for the advice.

Many thanks
