Brakes and engine mounts on S40T4
At only 57,000km I am told I need brake pads and disk rotors, engine mounts and a pile of other bits and pieces, totalling over $2,500 and thats on top of $368 for the service. Is this unusual?

RE: Brakes and engine mounts on S40T4
My 1998 (90K miles) T4 just needed a new engine mount (left hand side as you look under the bonnet). Apparently the replacement one has been revised. I assume it's a weak point. I am having words with Volvo since I bought the car less that a year ago and they say it's not covered by the warranty...

Pads and discs (rotors) at that mileage is not really a problem in my opinion.
Engine mounts should last longer although in the UK there is a Service Bulletin that will replace one of them free of charge. Without knowing the specifics of what is to be replaced difficult to say more but that is certainly a HUGE amount of money for what should be a routine service! Post back with more specifics and you'll get the T4 experts with opinions which should help more. Mike V40 T4 SE Auto |

That's very interesting - can you give me any more information on the service bulletin?
Thanks, Paul |

mmm yes I too would be interesting in this service bulletin that everyone is going on about, are UK dealers aware of this and willing to help or is it a case of pester until you get what you want in true kiddy stylee?
