Volvo XC60 and XC90 reliability - better information
TrueDelta reports absolute repair frequencies that make the differences between car models much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, to report on new models quickly and track cars closely as they age.
So far we have results for most years of the XC90, but not yet the XC60. We also have a real-world fuel economy survey that, unlike others, includes driving style and driving conditions. For those logged in from the UK, all results are in miles per Imperial gallon. Most current participants are in the U.S. and Canada. But a few are in the UK. In response to requests, we recently added the D5 and other UK powertrains to the database, so hopefully we'll have more participants from the UK going forward. If you're powertrain still isn't listed, please let us know and we'll add it. Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter. To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for their model, free of charge. We can only use information submitted through the survey in our analysis, but forum visitors will also find individual experiences posted here helpful. |

Updated results for the XC90 later today. Not yet enough XC60s signed up to include it in the main survey--hopefully soon. The GLK and Q5 are both already in the survey.

We've updated the results for the XC90 to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2007: 45, about average 2006: 54, about average 2005: 138, worse than average 2004: 137, wore than average Sample sizes larger than earlier, but still below the minimum for a full result. Everyone who has been helping, thank you, I certainly appreciate it. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. Volvo XC90 reliability comparisons |

The XC60 has been added to the survey.
We continue to need more participants for both the XC60 and the XC90. Updated results for the latter later this month. For the details, and to sign up: Car reliability research |

295 owners now signed up for the XC90 and another 23 for the XC60. A good start, but more are needed to provide precise results for all model years.

We've updated the results for the XC90 to include owner experiences through December 31, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2007: 50 2006: 96 2005: 84 2004: 139 Sample sizes larger than last time, and we had enough responses for the 2005 and 2007 that those are full results. The other two are partial results that are asterisked and only visible to members on the site itself. A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. Volvo XC90 reliability comparisons |

Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.
As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants next month. Car reliability research |

Updated results in about two weeks.
We're going to add the 2003 and the 2008 to the survey this month. Both are right at the minimum sample size, so even a few additional participants per year would be vey helpful. To help us fully cover your year: Car reliability research |

I just tried to add my car but it's not there yet.
