Default Cam belt change

Hello everyone
Been looking for a long time but this my first post so please be gentle on me.
My wife has a 2001 T4 auto with 67.000 miles on it. I read somewhere that cam belts where to be changed at 80,000/4years, except cars of 2001 and 2002, they should be changed at 66,000/4 years. Can anyone clarify this for us.
By the way I do like the car but she barely lets me drive it.

Thanks

Mike

only the 2000 model year S/V40 Turbo needs the belt doing at 66000 miles or 6 years which ever comes first, the rest are 80000 miles ... Is your car a 2000 model year or 2001 model year ? ( Not REGISTERED in 2000 or 2001 )
The 10th VIN character is model year "Y" is 2000 and "1" is 2001

Hi
It was registered in November 2001 on a 51 plate.
Do you think we should have it done anyway as we only do about 5000 miles per year ?

Thanks

I would get it done as soon as possible, had one go on my s40 without any warning.Better to spend a couple of hundred pounds now than god knows how much after a busted baelt ruins your engine.

as the 2002 models come out around july 2001 then yours is most likely a 2001 but the VIN will tell you for sure

If its a 51 plate it will be a new shape (phase 2) with B4204T5 engine and they have there belts changed at 90,000 miles
