  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.

Default Android auto question

Good afternoon all. Quick question. Is the android auto update, a physical product or just a software update? I.e, do volvo have to disassemble the car in any way?

In which case it should be a software only update. Android Auto only requires one USB socket but CarPlay requires two.

When I had CarPlay fitted it required my one USB socket to be replaced with two. Later cars have two sockets fitted as standard.

Note that the cost is the same whether you have AA, CP or both fitted so you might as well have both.

Not strictly true above.

I had ACP with only 1 USB, had to have the update to two USB's for AA.

Interesting. My dealer said it was the other way round but, no matter, I now have 2 USBs rather than just one.

I doesn't require the dashboard pulled to pieces - they just open the armrest pop the old one out and stick the new one in. Then flash the car software.
