Default V60 rear seat space with child seats

I am trying to convince my wife that we should change from our current SUV to a V60 however she questions whether there will be enough space in the back

We have two children who are in the forward facing group 3 child seats (booster seats with a back).

We sometimes have to take one of our parents out with us and for that my wife sits in the back between the two child seats

What are people’s experience of the space in a V60. Would an adult fit between two child seats?

We went the opposite way, moved from V60 to XC90 for similar requirements. With two forward facing seats it was a tight squeeze in the middle for my teenage son, was okay for short journey. We also tried the V90 and but had the same issue.

I’d like an XC90 but can’t afford one or the additional fuel cost. Would a V90 have more space across the back seat than a V60?

Anyone with a V60 and two car seats that could show a photo of the space?

Not width wise no, car is quite narrow on the rear seat anyway, two nice outers cramped middle.

It definitely had better legroom but the problem is both V60 and 90 are limited on width which proves difficult with two child seats.

Yep. We would only be doing it for short journeys so doesn’t need to be overly comfortable. Our current car is an X-Trail so I would think rear width wouldn’t be any better than a V90

Anyone with a V60 or V90 that could measure the centre swat size so the gap between the isofix points on the two outer seats?

Similar situation. Previous BMW G20 it was an almost impossible squeeze (but we still did it). The wife says definitely more space in the V60 when we squeeze 5 in the car. That's with a booster seat (no iso fix) and a booster seat+back (with iso-fix).

2019 V60 - distance between the two closest ISO fixes in the rear is 38cm (ie the spot the wife has to squeeze into between the kids).

I have a V60 with a swivelling group 1-3 isofix base and with a rear passenger that’s slightly cosy with the size of that particular seat. If it’s for short journeys I’d say you will be ok but if you or your front seat passenger are tall then the front seats are fairly far back making it even more snug in the rear. Still a great car, apart from when the other half hits the boot opening closing sensor on the outside of the car and it shuts on my head 🤯.
