XC90 2015 Carplay

Has anyone retrofitted CarPlay to a 2015 (new model) XC90?

Dealer has quoted £400.

I think it’s just a software update to get CarPlay, I think if you shop around you’ll get it cheaper than £400. I think I was quoted £250 when I was looking at buying a S60 (new model) from the dealer.

Just a software update - although it does include adding an extra USB if yours needs it. Every so often, Volvo have it on offer though at around £250.

It does dip to sub £200 at various times of the year so just keep an eye out for the offer.

Just got it done to my s60 a few days ago, cost £275, dealer said they installed a usb kit but it looks the exact same to me

I’ve also installed a Carlinkit wireless CarPlay adapter which works well, although the instructions with it were poor.

There is an offer advertised in the traders offers section for £185, maybe your dealer will price match it or it could be worth the fuel driving to get it done obviously depending on where you live.

Early cars with only one USB socket require a USB hub and additional cabling to be fitted in order to provide the two sockets required for CarPlay.

Had it done to my MY17 car for £200 (on offer).

You can enable carplay, android auto and many other features yourself using Orbit. Search on swedespeed.

Guys on swedespeed also report that they have car play with 1 USB port.

Can’t see that? Searched Orbit nothing Carplay related came up.

There's a few threads on swedespeed about adding carplay. Plenty of guys have it with 1 USB port. Orbit is brand new but it's great. I've used it to enable loads of features. Read www.spaycetech.com
