Default Diesel xc90 Manual axles - please help

Hello UK members.

I am in dire need of help. I lifted my 2003 xc70 and manual swapped an M66 transmission in there. The manual transmission was not an option on these models in the US. The axles I put together do not seem to be working.

I found diesel xc90 manual axles on ebay UK, but ran into an issue. The left side axle is fine and has 26 splines on the inner side (2005 diesel xc90). The right side axle (2010 diesel xc90) has 28 splines and is slightly longer than the stock one. Is there a specific year when these splines changed? Or is the M66 used in the diesels somewhat different? I hope someone can help me with this or maybe help me procure one axle that works.

Thank you, I have continued searching on ebay and am waiting on sellers to reply regarding specifics. I may have to abandon/remove the strut lift; as it's more important and easier to just remove that than the transmission. I would prefer not to, but it seems the most likely choice. All the aftermarket axles I see on uk websites also show the wrong number of splines for both diesel and petrol manual xc90 axles (right side).

On cars with automatic gearboxes (xc90 and xc70) the gearbox was changed for MY2006 from the Aw55 5 speed unit to the tf80 6 speed unit. I’m not sure whether any changes were made to manual cars at the same time.
- I.e. I can’t recall when Volvo started fitting the M66 speed instead of the M56 5 speed in the V70 platform.

It seems that it may have been the same situation for the manuals. I searched extensively and it seems that most manual axles I found are split for 2002-2005 and 2006-2010 model years. I located a right side axle from a 2004 model that should fit. The left side axle I bought that works was from a 2005 model.
