262c Banger Raced This Weekend :(

There are photos on facebook of a 262c being banger raced to oblivion at Warton this weekend.

Not good.

Considering how much even a tired example is worth, I find it hard to believe it was in good shape before they even started racing - even banger racers would be savvy about a car worth a good five grand - they could sell it and buy two dozen of something else. I expect if you look at photos of it before the race it's got significant pre-existing crash damage.

We would like to think so, but there are always 1 or 2 who are a bit ignorant about such cars. I come across many in the trade who can't see the wood for the trees where old cars are concerned.
