1997 v40 1.8se
1997 Volvo V40 1.8i
Mot exp: 11/2013 Tax exp: 11/12 131K miles I’ve owned this V40 now for the past 13 months and have been using it daily and it’s been faultless the entire time. I’ve kept it in excellent working order and as far as I can see it has no faults with any of the mechanical components. Since I’ve owned it I have fitted: New cambelt and waterpump New starter motor New wishbone balljoint New pads and discs (all round) New flexi hoses (front) Full oil and filters service (inc gearbox and coolant) New plugs and leads New thermostat Volvo 16” alloys and tyres Thrust washers in the gear rod (to remove the sloppiness) New speakers in the front doors (Fli 180w) Ultra Bright Headlight bulbs I’ve just put a fresh MOT on the car and it passed with no advisories, I can’t think of any mechanical faults the car has and the body is completely rot free. The body does have a few scratches and dents but none are serious. This car has been excellent to me in the time I’ve had it and I will be sorry to see it go, the only reason i’m selling is I don’t really need an estate car anymore and I would like another diesel (looking for an Audi A4 TDi really) I’m sure this car will last for many years to come and it will make a lovely car for the upcoming winter as the heater is excellent. With the car I also have the original 15” steel wheels which have good tyres on them which you can have if you want, they would make good wheels for fitting some winter tyres if you want a bit more grip in the snow and sludge. I’m asking £850 for the car and I’m open to a Part-ex for an A4 TDi or similar. Last edited by swordfish210; Nov 1st, 2012 at 16:35. |

Probably, the scratch was there when i bought it it just never bothered me enough to do anything about it.
It is a very nice example, as long as it's looked after by its new owner it will be for many years to come. |
