Recommendations appreciated.

If it's diesel it's worth driving to Thames Valley Electro-Diesel in Reading, they specialise in fault finding and they were right about my diesel and the company that repair the AA's fleet were wrong about my diesel!!!!!!!

Default Its a diesel - apologies.

Yep - its a diesel. Runs smoothly and seems to have plenty of power.

Must be worse than I thought - cars were keeping away from me on the way to work (given the diesel news on the radio....)

Default Thanks

Thanks Guys -

I went to Keith at K-Tech at Basingstoke (walking distance from where I work). The place was great -a good labour rate and he really knows his stuff including all the little variations and issues between minor engine version differences. Keith explained everything and is really into the cars big time. The bill was less than I had expected (being someone who has tended to run Italian metal this was a new experience for me). Highly recommend this guy and will definitely go back for regular servicing. It turned out that the previous owner had changed the cambelt but not the diesel pump belt and that it had got out of adjustment (all done by a large dealership).

We bought the car as an alternative to a rental (needed another car for a couple of months due to a mother in law visit) - it's a 2002? V70 100K miles one owner and way too much service history and really got a surprise as to the ride and smoothness of the thing and will keep it. Quite surprised by the the whole experience really.

Thanks very much for your help.
