Default 340 Heated Seats

Coldest weather so far this year and the seats have gone on the fritz!

I`ve tested for power at the plugs under the seat - all present and correct - but I am balking at the prospect of dismantling the seats further to have a proper look.

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong with them or have any tips for getting at them and sorting them out?.

If you have power to them then the elements are probably knackered. The the elements are quite easy to get at.
If you take the seats off and you will find that the covers are fastened on with metal hooks (for want of a better word) and can be removed with a pair of pliers.
You can get some elements from scrapyards and can then see how it all goes together.
When you see them you will think "is that it then?".
You can refasten them as good as new with the hooks and a few cable ties.
