I have the 2ltr turbo with a gas conversion. I find I'm saving £15 per week on fuel over my Civic that did the same trip. My S60 is an Auto too and I'm well pleased with it. The petrol S60's are coming in cheap too. Mine cost me 3k a month ago.

TT

My petrol S60 hovers around the 30mpg mark (almost exclusively motorway miles). Can the diesel version of my car manage 60mpg in the same conditions? Even if it can, diesel costs more than unleaded and servicing costs are going to be similar! Plus of course, diesel cars generally cost more to buy.
I think diesel may be a more economical option if used around town mostly and used often in these conditions.
The prospective buyer really needs to work out (carefully) the difference in costings against the proposed use of his new/secondhand vehicle. I don't think that would be a part of his question any of us could definitively answer?

This is what I took into consideration when buying my S80. The diesel version only averaged 10 mpg more in all conditions/speeds, admittedly it is a bigger car and heavier. I went with the 2.5T which has moor vavavoom than the Satin fuelled version and quieter and always leaves me with a smile when driving her. Happy Days

well in general a s60 petrol turbo is going to average say 28 mpg in real terms in average conditions a D5 163 bhp can do 55+ on longer runs and average upper 40's , so yes i stick with around half ( the volume if not the comparible litre cost ) everyone's driving conditions are different though .

a s60 petrol turbo can be VERY thirsty at times as we all know , hills , traffic queues , after a hard run which is why you have a turbo ..

Cool

I ended up buying a late 2002 S60 2.3 T5 SE Geartronic, 113K on the clock.
Volvo Service History, MOT + Tax until April 2013, it cost me £775.

It needs a new brake servo, which I have budgeted for.

Can anybody suggest a good place to get it replaced?

I live in Sussex, between Brighton and Gatwick.
