Depending on your position car wise, perhaps put a wanted post on the 200 section and hopefully you will get some offers from motors that have been looked after a bit better.

Good luck and keep us posted here.

Beat me to it Steve, I agree.👍

If the repairs have been done properly, it is à desirable model, for some but way too expensive.

My grandma used to say, “ there’s always most pushing where there’s least room .”

We’re all guilty of that one mate!🤨

Thanks both - much appreciated and it's lovely to see such a community here.

I'm not in a huge rush, would rather wait for the right one to come along for my first time, am just conscious that between my ridiculously large greyhound and bum left knee it'll have to be an auto 245 😅

Prices seem to be a bit of enigma at the moment too! I'll definitely be keeping an ear to the ground and will look at posting in the wanteds if nothing catches my eye

Just to add my agreement to the above two posts, the 245 GLT looks nice at first glance but £OUCH and especially if the MoT history isn't good.

Save your money and find a better example for your hard-earned!

The Forester should sell easily enough though.

The Fozzy has certainly served me well and with all this frost about I don't mind the 4wd, especially when I'm out and about on construction sites!

Maybe I'll have to convince my wife to let me keep both...?

The big holes in the sill have disappeared, but the panel has obviously not been replaced (unless someone welded on a pre-rusted one to maintain the patina ), so I think you are right Bob, this one is down to some chicken wire, a Weetabix box and some plastic padding with a blue rattle can.

I suppose the dealer (FBI Classics of Swansea) has become a bit desperate, but I think what he/she has done is despicable.

Ho hum - human nature is not always a pretty thing

Ah, that explains it. The upper photo is of the £2.25k 1973 car (big front indicators and a big hole in the sill) and the lower photo is the £4.5k 1972 car (smaller indicators, no hole).

Both look pretty rough, but not necessarily full of chicken wire.

Now I thought I had issues with my Volvo habit, seems they must have a thing for two of things, as they have also a pair of Beetle chassis/floorpans

Cheers
