Default XC60 Satnav display

Anyone knows what happens to this area if you don't spec the nav?

Also if you do spec the nav what other info comes up on the display - is it just route information or do car functions get displayed too?

AFAIK .... the area is just blanked out .... there are some other threads showing aftermarket fitting of SATNAV using the same space.... not sure exactly what else is displayed on the screen though ...

Cheers

If you don't spec it, it will be a blank plate sitting there instead.

The nav only displays the maps.

Anyone fitted an aftermarket solution for the Reversing Camera - the Volvo one is VERY expensive.

Does your kenwood system mute the audio when give verbal commands?

I have the factory premium sat nav in mine and I've also noticed that the verbal commands stop when using the Bluetooth phone system, quite handy when you're tell people where you are not, if you know what I mean....

Looks great - how does it compare cost-wise to the factory set-up?

It wasn't cheap. It's about 75% cost of the OEM unit. The advantage from my perspective is it uses a Garmin sat nav unit and software, does not use that clunky control behind the steering wheel (or the silly remote) which the OEM unit uses and has a nice big touch screen which works for all its functions.
