s40 diesel loosing power

starts okay and drives fine then suddenly on aceleration it goes into limp mode and will not pick up power, drive it a alittle later and its fine again. I have had the car in to the garage twice now and both times the mechanic has had it on is diagnostics but no codes have shown up.

any ideas? thanks

could be waste gate sticking shut, goes into limp mode to stop over boosting.
