Default SE model query

Hi all

Have made a deal with a lad on his 52 plate S60 D5 SE and really like the car. There is one thing that is confusing me. It has the full leather, cruise, dual climate, fogs, but doesn't have the electric driver's seat.

Just wondered if someone could shed light on why this wouldn't be fitted.

Cheers

I have two V70 SEs , the 2001 model dosnt have electric driver seat but the 2003 model does and this came fitted as standard from new , I think its probably just the normal way car makers do things , they keep adding what were originally optional extras as standard items as the model ages just to keep it attractive to new buyers and to be able to say its been upgraded and then just before bringing in a new model they offer a final 'special ' version with loads of extras free of charge . For what its worth you are not missing out on much and in an older car you are probably better off with a manual seat as it one less thing to go wrong .

The electric seats were about £500 each (per side) on the S60. If your car has the connections on the car side, you can probably find some from a breakers etc and fit them, then go to Volvo to get the s/w loaded to enable them.

I have one electric seat (drivers) - both full leather - but not heated
I want to put heated seats in mine, as I have the switches (blanked off) but don't want to pull my chair apart to find if I have the pads and/or modules or not.

Not sure what Volvo would charge to enable the options if I did find another electric seat and/or heated set.

The heated seats are amazing and your backside is cooking before you hit the end of the street.

Other cars i have had them in, you forget you've switched them on by the time they heat up.

My 52 plate V70 se didn't have electric driver seat, but they were standard on my 53 plate V70 se. So must of been added to the standard kit for the 2003 or 2004 MY cars.

Not sure if it was the same for the S60.

Bot of them had full leather, cruise, dual climate, fogs etc.

My 52 plate S60 SE has Electric Drivers seat and heated leather seats, I find the electric seat excellent as my wife sometimes drives the car and needs to alter the door mirror glass positions as well as the seat position, once i get back in it i press a memory button and hey presto not only does the seat go back but so does the mirror glass! Bloody brilliant!
