Default Seat belt warning?

Is there an easy way, other than pulling the fuse or actually inserting the seat belts, to disable the seat belt warning system?

As I'm rallying my 240 GLT at the weekend and I'll be wearing harnesses, but i don't want the little buzzer and light flashing away all day!

Will that deactivate the whole system?

I wondered about removing the relay under the dash somewhere...I can hear it buzzing, I've just got to locate it!!

No expert on 240s but on 740s there is a multi plug wiring connector under the seat for the pressure switch, seat belt latch and seat heater (if fitted)

Disconnecting this disables the seat belt warning, the 240 sytstem is almost certainly the same.

On my '76 the relay was the same as for the indicators. If you don't need to indicate then pull the relay which is stuck in next to the hole in front of the gear lever, to the left inside the plastic cover.

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions. In the end I went for the simple approach and just plugged in the seat belts around the back of the the seats.

A fun time was had by all...RWD definately delivers the most smiles per mile!! Mind you, I think the Lancia Stratos had slightly better power to weight ratio than I did :-)))
