Is there anybody out there that can help me? Please!
I have my 850 serviced by my local garage who are very helpful and conveniently situated. However I have just had them carry out a second service for me and again they were unable to reset the service light. Whilst they have some diagnostic kit, it is not official Volvo kit so after the last 120,000 service it cost me £25.00 plus vat. to have it reset by a main dealer. They were unable to reset it today after the 130,000 and I do not not look forward to having to part with another £25 plus on top of their service charge, let alone the loss off working time and the hastle. The car is super!!! Thanks for any help and advice. Graham Spite |

Similar enquiry to 'rstrang' above. My car (850est 1996 2.5 20v) has the diagnostic socket in front of the gear lever under what appears to be a coin holder. There is no rubber plug in the dash. How do I reset the service light from the socket?

Sorry, if I'm bringing back dead threads, but, does anyone know if this will work for a 1993 850?

Hi,
prior to 1996 approx fault codes and resets were mostly done via the diagnostic socket located on the lefthand side of the radiator (if looking from the front) in the engine bay. If your's has one here's what you do: Switch ignition On Connect fly lead to socket A7 Press the button on the top opf the multisocket 4 times - the LED should illuminate Press button 1 time - wait for LED to illuminate Press button 5 times - wait for LED to illuminate Press button 1 time LED should now flash indicating that service light is reset. Replace flying lead in holder and tops on multisockets. There is another possible setup for some cars in years 94-96 so if the above doesn't work please let us know. Cheers Brian

Alright, I'll try that if the service station wasn't able to reset it. And, if they could, I'm sure it will be going on soon enough anyways.
Thanks. |
