Default V70 D3, short stall during acceleration

Hi all, I'm new here.

I'd like to ask for some help with my recent issue (is it, I don't know exactly...).

I have V70 D3, 120kW, MY2012. Recently, I'm facing strange behaviour during full acceleration. Sometimes, when the engine reaches about 2.500 revs, it stalls for a short moment and then acceleration continues. I can also hear this revs drop. It reminds me on an automatic transmission when it changes a gear, but mine is manual... I notice this behaviour only in higher gears, for example when I enter the highway and want to accelerate fast. Except this issue, I haven't noticed anything strange at all.

Is it because of my drive style? I keep the engine at low revs most of the time (possible unburned fuel inside the engine).

Thanks for any information.

No CEL while this happens? Might need new coils or spark plugs...?

I had something very similar; turned out to be a split air hose.

SouthOxon,

I've checked two rubber hoses, before and after the intercooler, but I haven't found any fault (as far as I can see...). Can you tell me where did you find the crack and how it looked like?

Hi,

May not be a split pipe but could be the rubber has softened allowing the pipe to collapse and thus shutting off the air flow.?

Des. . .

I did not find the fault; the dealer did (that's their job!). The part is an air duct from part of the intake system part number V31370891 and it was replaced under the extended warranty.

Just to give a feedback, although very late...

The problem was due to a clutch slip. After about 10.000 km the issue was cured by itself, now after 180.000 km still OK.

Meanwhile I also experienced broken high pressure air hose. When it happened, it was very obvious (whistling for a short time after acceleration, then turbo shut off, consequently almost no power after that). I heard that this is a common issue on D3/D5.
