V70 D5 SE Geartronic 2004

I have recently bought a newer V70 so my old one is up for grabs on fleabay item no 161939863011.

It's a lovely motor and is the best D5 engine I've ever owned (10 now) as it pulls incredibly now that I replaced the front engine mount and some of the vacuum pipe.

When I bought it, I noticed it had a new intercooler on - Volvo's response to the engine service warning for some poor previous owner - when it needed the front mount and a pipe!

This week the alarm gave up the ghost (my previous repair didn't hold) so I've just ordered a replacement from FRF which I'll fit on Monday.

What was the reserve, I think £1300 is a decent bid considering the mileage. There was a similar V70 on here recently that went for less than a grand.

The car looks nice though, if it was a few months down the line I'd probably buy it!

As it has satnav, telephone and Parrot, and geartronic I was hoping for more than £1300.

I would have thought it worth £1500 at least.

Anyway we'll see this week.

Just to finish the storey for those who were following V70 prices.

Well it sold on fleabay for £1517 to a German resident who failed to contact me and so I offered it to the second bidder who took it for £1500.

Despite the high mileage I think it's a bargain but was pleased to see it go as I can now concentrate on my latest V70.

It's a 2010 model with 109k on it. I've done the belts and the next job is sorting out the washers which don't work. Looks like I'll have to brave the cold and take off the inner wheel arch lining. there's no sound so I think it's a wiring issue.
