Default 2009 C30 Dynaudio Rear Speaker Volume

All,

Have searched this forum and couldn't find an answer...

Just bought my second C30 -- a T-5 R-Design and I have a question regarding the behaviour of the rear Dynaudio speakers.

I noticed the other day when playing around with audio settings that the rear speakers seem a lot quieter than the fronts. Just seeking some advice as to whether this is normal before I spend any significant amount of time troubleshooting. Haven't had the car long enough to know if normal.

Can anyone confirm?

Huge thanks
Graeme

THis may be a stupid question but have you gone through the audio settings and made sure that the fader is not set to be towards the front?

Also worth going through the menus and checking out if the last owner left some weird EQ settings, you should have separate EQ settings for front and back.

Rear speakers always seem quite a bit quieter when you pan all the way to the back though, that extra distance makes a big difference.

I have completely reset the settings and checked the fader etc. The difference I am noticing is when fully panned to back vs. Full to front. Maybe it is just distance though there does seem to be a big difference. Mostly looking to see if someone out there gets the same
Impression from their C30. Opinions?

I have the same system in my recently acquired C70 and thought the same as you if that helps. That's with the fader set in the middle. Wasn't aware that you could have different equaliser settings for the front & rear though, thanks for the info

My C30 is the same, I don't think you have a problem.

with pro logic or surround sound , you only get the ambiance ( echoes and effects ) through the rear speakers to give the spacial sound ... a bit odd for those sat in the back .

Oh yeah, fair point about pro logic I thought I had an amp fault with the weirdness it was producing in the rear channels. Turn 3ch mode to off and see if that's better, it's a real gimmicky feature.

If you want a good song to push your Premium Stereo and show you the difference between 3-channel and Pro Logic II, try Madonna - "Frozen".... it sounds absolutely fantastic in Pro Logic II mode, produced by William Orbit.

Thanks all - figure I'm probably good. Sometimes tough to know when the car is used.

Time to go enjoy it
