Default V70 AWD PCV and coil problems.

So this all started when i got this car and noticed theres something funny with the steering... Turned out i needed a new steering rack, and ended up paying over 2k € for the service (new sway bars, tie rods, cv joints... shock upper parts, steering alignment...)

After that i got a sudden CEL, which i ignored due to being an previous VW owner... So then it started flashing and i stopped driving. Few days after checked under the hood to notice i have oil all over my engine cover... So my coils were soaked and 2 from the far right were cracked and different than the 3 first ones. I replaced them and cleaned the oil up. Called it a day and all was fine... Also replaced the oil cap. Few days after i had oil on my engine AGAIN... Did some research and figured it was my PCV system.... so i replaced my oil trap, and most of the hoses going to it. Only hoses i overlooked we're the ones going to the turbo.. But the lower hose at least was completly clogged.. Also cleaned my throttle body and intake manifold. Well during fighting with the manifold i accidently broke the ECT sensor under the thermostat. Tried if she runs. Well she did but of course cold start took a few turns due to not having any choke.. (?). Replaced the sensor the next day and she ran like a champ..... Which brings me to the only problem i have left!.... She still runs rough for a few minutes on cold starts... the car shakes and i can hear that the idle noise is kind of off... Also this got me another CEL this morning, but other than that she runs fine! I AM getting a few surges on WOT 2nd gear sometimes, but then again on the way home today i didnt get any.... The car has been chipped for 230~~ HP. But still electronic boost gauge only shows 0-6-0.7bar? Isnt 0.5 stock?

Thanks in advance.... just wish i could finally convince my wifes folks that my car actually works........

Hi mokomaki

Sounds you have done most of the work but I don't understand why you say "coil problems" in the subject of the thread. ?

Also you say "Only hoses i overlooked we're the ones going to the turbo.. "
There is a hose that runs across under the manifold from the left over to the turbo on the right, which I think is brittle plastic inside a black outer sleeve in some early V70s. It breaks very easily and then will cause an air leak.
I wouldn't be surprised if that would then cause bad idling.

I think they changed to an aluminium tube in the later models.

"getting a few surges on WOT 2nd gear sometimes" What is WOT?

Steve
