Some lovely pictures of lovely cars, and good to see so many old Volvos spared from scrappage or the banger track.
Jon, I have to agree with you that 700s do have a certain 'presence' - however on balance I think I still, just, prefer 200s! It's fair to say though that all the RWD Volvos are stunning looking cars. |

That's a really nice colour combination and a rare early GLT. Very nice! The same colour combo that Volvo used to promote their 1981 240 Turbos. The 265 also looks great. Very nice to see all those 200 series cars. |

I liked them all but would love a car like ACE 240.
A turbo charged sleeper version. James |

Amazing photos
I was there
The 240's were amazing BUT please reinstate high mileage and working cars class. We need to ensure that, as these cars are over engineered, to our advantage, to use them to their full potential, maybe 1,000,000 miles! As Honest John says in the Saturday Motor Telegraph, these 240's do galactic mileages. Mine certainly has at 571,000 miles 27 miles when I bought it 150,000 miles is just run in, this when I converted to LPG. The exhaust valve failed at 350,000 miles. Not so bad. Met some good, real 240 experts and contacts. Even my wife was not too bored, and talked to Volvo people. Best Weston hotel in Corby, at £53 was good too. Look for F2 HOS BrianH |

My first ever Volvo was a T reg 244. A magnificent vintage.
I foolishly sold it becaue I moved to a house with a short garage. I ran a very nice (when it behaved) 340 1.7 for a while. Eventually I knocked out the back wall of the garage, got it slightly extended, and put an X reg 245 inside .... P.S. ... Antz has torn up the rule book. I am more compliant but, I have never found the rule book ... (Innocent emoticon) . Last edited by Stephen Edwin; Jul 1st, 2015 at 00:14. |
