Question Doughnut in spare wheel well, sealing?

Hi, I am fitting the LPG doughnut in the spare wheel well of my 940. The hump has been chopped out and a flat plate welded in. I have a multivalve that will go through a hole in the side of the well so that no pipework will be inside the car.

Good so far, I hope?

But what is the best way to seal the hole in the well around the multivalve and tank, to keep out water, fumes etc?
I still have some dum-dum left, would this be okay? Also this is only a semi-permanent seal, so can allow the system to be removed if necessary.

Your advice will be most welcome...

I have used 3M 590 urethane sealant to retro fit various coupling / fittings into van bodies , as well as when repairing damaged bodies on trailers to make them waterproof . Not cheap by far the best
