Default From Carb to Injection

I will be changing a B19A into a B230F in a new acquired (first owner of 88 yrs of age) 244 from 1976.

So I took the tank from my 245 turbo and had a look inside. Besides the in-tank pump the turbo also has the second main pump below the rear passenger.

But the 940 runs the B230F(K) with only one in-tank pump. Therefore I was looking around whether anyone ever performed such a swop with only the in-tank pump fitted!

Anyone?

I'd like to know as well.

Will shortly be doing something similar to a '79 260 that was CI injection. Going to use the injection 230F engine from a dead '90 740.

When I get it running I'll let you all know, but don't hold your breath.
James.

The CI pump will deliver plenty of fuel for a tuned turbo engine.

For a single in tank pump to a look at Antz T5 conversion project

The in tank is merely there to get fuel out of the tank. The t5 fuel pumps fit in the 940 , i wont be surprised if it fits the 240. Just make sure you have a return line.

Dai.. Indeed i read about the AEM single pump delivering 3.5 Bars used by Arntz.

Dave: We must forget about the 940 pump since that's 45 mm in diam. and also much linger than the slim 36 mm diam pump in the 240. (btw I only measured the pump from a turbo so no info at hand for the B230F models in later years.

My conclusion today is that the pump should be approx 36 mm or a bit less and max. length till fuel outlet approx. 80 mm leaving 25 mm space for flex tube to outlet pipe from tank. Though the pipe can be made shorter easily.

Will keep you posted.
