Default 240 tyre speed rating

hi,
can anyone tell me definitively what is the correct speed rating for a 185/70/14- sized tyre on a 240 estate?
Not sure whether to fit T-rated (lots of choice) or H-rated.

Also, I've got an ancient but unused ( would only use in emergency) Michelin MX 185/R14/90T as my spare.
Would this be the original size from new?

Unless you plan on running your car at over 118 mph for any length of time then t rating should be good.

The 90 profile (almost square) profile is very old fashioned now. You're better off trying to get some decent 185 14 85, as its a more common size and there will be more choice.

thanks Suterman,
I know a lot has been said on various forums about this.
What did Volvo originally specify, was it an H or a T?

I'm currently running 185/70/14H's but It'd be good to find something more akin to the original size as I like the way they look.
