Default Headlamps off

Is there any way in which I can turn my headlamps off? Ideally, when the switch is in the O position, everything (including sidelights) should be off.
If I want the lights on I can switch to the ON position and, as this is ignition controlled, leave them there if I so wish.
Not sure whether I need Vida, a Volvo dealer or whether I can download it and do it myself?
Thanks

I had mine (DRL's) turned-off by the dealer when I bought the car (a condition of them supplying the vehicle).

I believe it's dealer-only (or someone with access to the correct management/diagnostics console).

There's no way of doing it without.

Correct.

I was looking to turn my DRL off with non Volvo Vida access but been told that need software update to access to that menu. My last services was not done by volvo but independent garage so no software update. Volvo charging for soft related operations from £60 upwards.

They may refuse to turn DRL off i think...

I just turn down to sidelights during the day. Saves the Xenons getting worn out and still leaves me with some light so that I can be seen.

It can be done but its dealer only and involves a software download,

I had an old s40 and used to be able to do it with a switch trick but i did it and a week later a car nearly took me out at a junction on a main road, after that i just drove with lights on all time again
