Question Is Volvo Assist Transferable

Tomorrow after three years we part company with the XC70 which has Volvo Assist obtained as part of the main dealer service package. Does anyone know if VA is transferable to the next owner?

There must be some Ts & Cs that go with the Volvo Assist package but I've not seen or read any. I guess a quick call to your dealer will give you the answer!

Thanks I am putting the plastic card in with the VA policy document with a note that the next owner should phone VA to see if it can be transferred probably for a admin fee. The policy document doesn't give any info, but its at least a couple of years old. But as the car was serviced, mot and brake fluid changed less than 1 week ago the VA has virtually 12 months to run and it is a good package too. Didn't think we would find another car so quickly as we only sold our caravan last week. But something popped up so we made the decision and received a very good part exchange value too. So that offset the recent expenditure to a large extent.

Sounds like not another Volvo for you Clive.

Yes we've gone for a Subaru Forester 2.0 petrol auto as with our caravan now gone the Volvo didn't meet our future needs. But I've enjoyed Volvo ownership as it did everything I asked of it and was very comfortable too.

Best of luck, I changed to Toyota for a few years as I was not sure as what to get after our 945's. My mechanic said that I would regret it and be back in a Volvo within 2 years, he was right and wrong, it took me 5 years.

Best of luck with the Subaru Clive. Feel free to keep calling in here regardless, you'll be a huge loss to the section if you don't!

Sorry to see you go Clive, you've been a great help to Volvo owners on here, you will be missed. It took me 6 years to get back to Volvo ownership, the clock is ticking for you to return, although I must say the newer Subarus do look a lot better than the older ones - we shall see.

Thanks for the comments. I blame MRG for the change as I only called in for some power steering fluid and looked into the showroom! But when we decided to sell our caravan we also decided to change cars too. Unfortunately Volvo didn't have anything that met our requirements as we wanted a go-anywhere, load lugging 4wd petrol. I thought Yetis were overpriced and BMW/AUDI to fashionistic. Subaru also have an excellent reliability record, 5 year warranty, good safety performance and aren't loaded with go-wrong gimmicks. Last but not least. MRG are only 10 miles away.
