Default Not having a good day

Whilst trying to park in a tight space, sunlight in my eyes and talking to the missus I bumped my front passenger side off of the obligatory white van. Not a mark on the van but I have a dent and scrapes plus I've cracked the headlight/indicator cover quite badly. It's a 2008 V70 with Bi-xenon headlights. All the lights are working and the indicators look as if they are still fully intact behind this cover. Is this just a Lens cover as I suspect and can it be easily replaced at a reasonable price by myself? If so does anyone know where I can get the required cover at the best price or a part number?

Still really ****ed off with myself as it's the first time I've ever dinked anything in over 20 odd years of driving. Just shows how a combination of distractions and complacency can result. Only good thing was it's nothing major and no-one was hurt.

Hi, understand how you feel. I manged to kerb an alloy on the first day I got my car in the dark with steamed up windows and trying to make sure I didn't catch a post.

Best place for Genuine parts is Rufe. With so much being made of Xenons being high voltage, I'd be very wary of driving it rain till it was fixed. Don't wanna break them and end up buying a whole new unit.

Luckily enough none of the cracks are to the front of the lighting unit but more or less over the indicator. I just hope that it is possible to replace this cover rather than the whole unit. What's the latest process for contacting Rufe/Simon? It's been a while since I dealt with him but I seem to remember that contact details had changed rather than just PM emails.

If you look in the traders section then the instructions are there on his thread. You just ring now, they had far too many PM's etc to deal with before.

Thanks, I found all of the contact details but unfortunately it's too late in the day. I'll try first thing in the morning, I'll just need to keep my fingers crossed until then.

You have my sympathies, you've probably read my "Did a very silly thing...." post it just shows how easy it is to dink your car with minor distractions or a momentary lack of attention, oh and not forgetting talking to the wife at the same time as I was!! Hope you get it fixed without too much trouble.
