RE: 760 GLE shudder @60 - 70 mph??
Heyy!!!Nigel
Where Ya been???:D Still got a Volvo Somewhere?? The answer, I believe is this.... The car has new alloys on it from another vehicle. The Bore of these alloys are 70mm in the centre. Althought the PCD of the bolt is the same as the original, The bore is not the same as the original wheel which has a 54mm bore. This means that although the difference of bore is slight, there still is movement of the wheel on the hub, similar to an unbalanced wheel. The answer therefore is SPACERS unfortunately:-( I found someone who had this problem on another car, This was his solution and he appears to be a "Contented Bunny".:P :D }( Regards Dave M |

RE: 760 GLE shudder @60 - 70 mph??
Hi,
Been on hols of course in the asian bus with aircon, twin screen DVD for the rear passengers and twin zone aircon. Fuel consumption 30% better than my Volvo and believe it or not the upright sitting position was better on my back. Insurance premium only two thirds of my V70!!! Why??? Only downside so far is that every time I signal to turn I wash the windscreen!!! Just for the sceptics !!!! the 2 litre diesel knocks out almost the same power as my 2.3 Volvo and is just as fast top speed!!! As for still owning a Volvo... We have a V70 diesel, a 940 celebration, the Hyundai and........wait for it.......a 1988 Fiat panda which my daughter intends to drive because the insurance companies think my 940 is far to dangerous for her to drive and have quoted 3 times the premium they quote for the panda. Third party F/TH. A further Volvo, my 1987 740 is on permanent loan to a friend who has lovingly cleaned the coffee stains off the dashboard and polished the outside to perfection. Just serviced my mates V70 which we used to own...wont say what the dealer did to this one to make him turn to Nige's service station. Our V70 was last serviced at TMS Melton Mowbray a few weeks ago. Now thats the type of service all Volvo dealers should be looking to copy. Cheers Nige. |
