Default 4c comfort mode vs standard suspension

Does anyone know if the comfort mode is softer than the standard suspension (without 4c)? There are quite a few pebble roads near where I live, so it'd be good to find a softer, comfortable ride.

Thanks!

I won't now have a car without 4C, I love it and IMHO make for a safer ride since there is less body roll when cornering or less pitching of the nose under hard braking etc.

I've never owner a XC60 so don't know what the suspension is like, but on XC70's I've own, I've found the standard suspension is somewhere between Comfort and Sport, so I do find Comfort Setting to have a slightly softer suspension setting over the standard car.

However, the wheel size you select will also effect this, the bigger the alloy the smaller the tyre side wall and there for a stiff ride.

So if you want the softer ride, select 17" wheels over 19" and if you want 4C also then you have the best of both worlds

As the owner of a XC6 with active 4C my views replicate the above in that you get the best of all worlds at all times. The "Comfort" setting is also ideal when you are in an off road situation in that the car just soaks up all the suspension travel from an extreme track condition.

4C was the first option box I ticked for the XC60 having had it on my S60 I wouldn't be without it, it's the best option volvo do in my opinion.
On a vehicle like the XC60 which can be used on a greater number of surfaces and conditions the 4C is even more useful than a on saloon.
