How to see if car is a sport or not
How can I see if my car is a SPORT or not?
When ordering online they always ask if it is for a sport or not. I know it is marked on ID plate but I mine is not original. Where can I see what is right for me? At the breakers they have a pile parts but what is right for my car? Witch are for SPORT or not ? |

Sport is just a trim level, it has nothing to do with the mechanical spec. The trim designations were: bog standard, Sport, SE - special equipment and Sport Lux, in that order
The standard suspension across all variants was comfort. However, Dynamic suspension could be specified on the T4 and lowered sport suspension with load compensating rear was available across all variants. The original suspension code is on the chassis plate.

There are different struts depending on your chassis code. I have just bought a pair from Volvo and they needed the code from the chassis plate. I can let you have the part numbers if that helps.

That is what they also ask for :code for chassis ,so there must be a difference in struts but I can't find what it is.
Coils are different, more ridgid that i understand but there are more parts they want a number for. So that is my question, how and where can I see if it is a sport part or not. |

The code is the very bottom row below the colour code. It will read something like this: 3AY2AZ 3A is the front spring/strut combo Y is the diameter of the front anti-roll bar 2A is the rear spring/strut combo Z is the diameter of the rear anti -roll bar Hope this helps.

That is fine having different chassis id but I would like to know the other way round and see if a part at breakers is from a sport or not, whitout the car around.
Here they take the parts and make a pile of it.Usely the rest is shredded to make new cars from it.The green boys have a lot off laws and simple to stock a old car is a bad dream,Parts they allow (sometimes) so no ch.nr to find. |

The only way to do that way round is match the part number on the replacement strut with the one on your car.
