Default New Battery - BMS Reset Query

Hi - I've got a new battery arriving tomorrow as the original in my V60 T4 has given up on life after 8 years. I've had a low battery warning for ages but the last cold snap seems to have finished it off and it now won't hold charge for more than a day.

Anyway - I'd read that on fitting the new battery I should reset the BMS. Either using VIDA/Scan tool or with a button press combo (which I intend to do).

Question is do I need to give it a bit of time running the car around to ensure the new battery is fully charged before resetting the BMS? Or am I ok to just fit the new battery, reset the BMS, leave it idle for ~6hrs and away I go?

Thanks!

If you leave the battery disconnected for 10 mins or more when changing it - this will usually reset the BMS. It will then take a while to re-calibrate to the new battery - it needs several periods of the car being locked for <8hours.

Vids on YouTube with other methods as to how to reset the BMS

you don't need to do anything, It will start acquiring new data again as soon as you connect the battery up again. It stores about 4 pages of A4 data.. journey times and mileages and just about every interesting parameter you can imagine. Very helpful for diagnosing and Battery or charging problems.
