Default clutch pedal problem 144

over last few days occasionally the clutch pedal is sticking down on the floor. it works fine and is easily pulled up. is it the cold temperatures? it only does it every so often. no sign of any problem so anyone any ideas what it could be?

Hi Alan

Is the return spring not tired perhaps? In 8 going on 9 years I have never experienced this and Andrea (My 144S) has never given a hint of such an issue. If it is its not to bad a fix providing you can find another spring. The foot well does get a bit awkward to work in though. Also, try lubing things up with some lub spray (We have Q20 here in SA).

Could be the cable worn and sticking internally.

There are also two white plastic "washer" things (top-hat shape) on the pivot bar, either side of the top of the pedal. If these break up they can cause jamming or then can fall out and allow metal-to-metal contact which could cause stiffness if not lubricated.

These are the things I'd look at first before looking at the clutch itself, if it's working OK otherwise.

I'd suspect the cable, they do fail fairly regularly.
