2022 B5p Transmission Problem
Ive had issues with the gear box on my 2022 XC60 B5p. I bought the car brand new and from day 1 noticed the gear changes were not smooth, in particular 1st to 2nd..At times the car holds 1st gear until it is literally screaming. Then after 1500miles and its first 'long' trip it broke down displaying the message Transmission acceleration performance reduced. I had to be recovered into our local dealer.. They reset the gear box but apparently could find no issues and sent it back to us. The car still performs the same with poor and sometimes lumpy gear changes. It has been back into Volvo for further investigation but they have found nothing... Has any one else had similar issues?
Also, the seat bases (in particular the bolsters) have gone baggy with annoying creases on the central leather panel. Volvo have agreed to replace them so that's a good point. The wireless charger gets hot and makes the phone hot and constantly switches on and off. The Google system has malfunctioned and has had to be reset several times. It has lost all sound, and at one time was playing the radio twice overlapped like an echo. Also effected indicator tick tock which was random, missing beats and crackly. I think I got the car built Friday afternoon after a thirsty Thursday! |

Unless you bought it before the 3rd January its not a month old yet and you can simply return it for a refund under the Consumer Rights Act. I'd do so pronto.

Although it’s classed as a 2022 model it was bought late Sept 21 so returning is not ab option I’m afraid. I’m stuck with it. How I miss my GLC!

Talk to Citizens Advice as it's clearly not fit for purpose, you surely must get some kind of redress, either money back or repaired.

Doesn't sound very good Wolrabeel, I have not experienced any of your problems, but if you post in this forum https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=201 which is for the newer SPA cars you may get some help.

Guarantee items unfit for purpose
In certain circumstance's if you buy something and it does not perform as stated you can change it for a new replacement. However if you ask for the item to be repaired this condition no longer applies. I was thinking of a very expensive domestic appliance I bought and I would not let them repair it as I requested a new replacement and they did provide a new one. It did have a major failure. Does this apply to cars? it would be interesting to find out.
