Another Air Con question
My S70 with manual Air con does not seem very effective. System was regassed 8 months ago.
When the a/c is on it clicks in every 15 seconds for about 5 seconds at a time. Compressor(?) seems quite noisy and saps a lot of engine power when on. Is something on the way out? |

RE: Another Air Con question
Hi Dude,
This is a symptom of low-gas. The compressor kicks in, decides there's nothing to compress and kicks out again. It sounds like you have a leak in the system, which is the achilles heal of the entire 850 range. My car had a new evaporator, new condenser, new drier, and mostly new tubes and now holds gas for 12 months at a time...... If you need some details of good 3rd party air-con companies let me know. Regards, Phil :)

Just had my '95 T5 regassed after two years of non functioning A/C - now the compressor has seized! I'm supposed to be driving it to Italy In 10 days - cool air would be a bonus. Cheers Mark |

RE: Another Air Con question
Certainly sounds as if you have a leak somewhere in the system.
My V70 is having a new evaporator fitted next week. It was gassed up after an AirCon "service" in Sept last year and has been getting worse recently when a leak was diagnosed. |
