wanted radio surround
Looking for an original Volvo plastic trim surround for the upper mounting? To allow refitting of original Volvo Stereo.
Many Thanks Ross |

Ross, The original 'upper' radio was that shape. If you were fitting an aftermarket radio you would need an adaptor to fill the hole.
Best of luck Scott |

Thanks.
I have original Volvo Stereo but it seems narrower than the hole. Previous owner had removed it and said he had removed the surround with it (and discarded) to fit a new (standard size) cd in its place (which fitted the hole fine), but the original stereo seems a lot narrower. Cheers R. |

Ross, The front of the original radio was square where it fits in against the clock and then had a rounded shoulder on the other side where it followed the contours of the dash. The front was an integral part of the radio so could not be removed.
The original radio came in two parts with the head unit and an amp which lives behind the dash. Make sure you get both if you end up buying one. Gary Austin is breaking a 240 but I cant remember what kind of radio is in it. Alternatively if you can find either a cubby from and earlier car or extra dial to fill the hole I have an original volvo stereo that plugs the lower position. Best of luck Scott |

the trim with the rounded corner can be removed from the radio it is held on with 4 little screws and can be used to fit a cd in the upper part of the dash.

I suppose that gives Ross an altenative!
Headswood Garage in Denny sometimes have 240s for breaking so may be worth a shout. Braydons in London would be worth a shout as well (remember to ask for the amp though!) Cheers Scott |

Hi Ross
I have a spare one of these surrounds that you can have, if you'll cover the postage cost. I should just mention that while the visible front is fine, the hidden screw holes that keep it in place have been repaired with super-glue. Send me a PM if you are interested. Kind regards Sion
