Smile Fitting bigger wheel rims to XC60 SE LUX 2014

Hi.

I will be replacing my 18in standard Pan XC60 SE LUX 2014 wheels for some 20in Ixions, but I wonder if it's just a matter of swapping them or do I need to do anything else?

In particular will I need to fit 'limiters' to avoid the tyres rubbing against bodywork on full lock or suspension excesses?

'Limiter' part number 31316843 is listed on a US Volvo parts list site alongside all of the 20in rims. Where does it fit? Is it just a spacer which fits between the wheel and the hub? - and how will I know if it needs this, also do I fit them on the rear wheels too?

Looking forward to any advice. Many thanks in advance.

Is the steering lock not already bad enough

You sued to have to fit a strengthening hit to the front suspension for 20" wheels and the reduced amount of rubber means the car get more vibration and shock.

Might be worth checking to see if it applies to your age and model

Watch out for kerbs....one of the pluses of 18" rims are the higher profile tyres.

Accessories website lists a limiter kit along with wheels but i would be tempted to fit them and see if they catch on full lock first,
