XC90 2015 D5 117k Service and another list of issues
So today the car had a 117k service and health check at Volvo today, and this has produced another list of issues.
1) Valve cover excessive oil leak (Rocker cover gasket I believe) 2) Camshaft cap excessive oil leak 3) OSF shock absorber dust cover loose (Will check in the day) 4) Advise top engine cross mount beginning to split/perish 5) Noise/Grinding from steering rack (suspected bearing gone, new rack) Interesting ones were: a) Wipers front and rear need replacing (Although I replaced all last month with genuine) b) I replaced all pads at the same time 18k miles ago, but the day front are good, rear need replacing Has anyone undertaken the items 1-5 or had a garage replace? Wondered on parts cost, ease if doing, Volvo cost. Thanks in advance.

At that mileage, the car is in middle age and things like this will become common. It's subjective what needs doing….how many are likely MOT failures?
All main dealers will look for work to maintain their fancy gin palace showrooms…that’s there the main money is earned . If you have deep pockets that’s fine If I were you I’d find a good local independent that specialises in Volvos. You’re more likely to get a realistic idea on what actually needs doing and probably pass less too |

I see you're Guildford. There's an award winning independent Volvo specialist in Farnborough called ACCUK I'd say you'll get a more fair appraisal there.
Do you use Squire Furneax Pirbright? They do like to upsell they're my closest dealer.
