  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default 440 air leaks , urgent help! please!!!

hi everyone ,still getting my high tickover on my volvo 440 2.0 1995, done everything i know but idle wont come down, but only by 2 methords, can the idle drop ,disconnecting idle air control valve and blocking it or by disconnecting map sensor vacuume pipe and blocking it then the idle drops, got to be an air leak??? but where??? any help be great,

Hi,

Have you checked that you haven't over-tightened and cracked the idle control valve? Try taking it all the way out and inspect it. If by taking it out and blocking the hole you can get the idle to drop it would suggest that your problems are around here somewhere. I did a similar thing to a Saab once.
