Unhappy V40 AC Compressor seized

Hello folks, new to this site. I have just bought a V40 last week. And already the AC Compressor pulley has seized resulting in the serpentine belt snapping.

How do I fix this? And can I bypass it with a shorter belt? Can I get a bypass pulley as I live in Scotland so there is no real need for AC anyway.

It's a lovely car, I have spent my budget on the car and insurance and road tax and cannot afford an expensive repair, so any advice will be most appreciated.

Was it bought from a trader? If so may have redress under SOGA despite what they may tell you.
If private then no luck.

Isn't it still under warranty? All V40's in this section are still under full warranty unless they've done over 60k.

The aircon is part of the windscreen demisting process by the way.

It seems a bit crazy spending that kind of money NOT to have AC , Your car will be devalued . AC Is beneficial ALL year round , you will regret it next summer ! Anyway that kit won't fit your car it's for the older volvo engies .
Just find a second hand compressor from a crashed V40 . Or is it just the clutch part which is faulty ?
