Default Android Auto and Amazon Music Offline Playlists

I have a 2020 XC60T8 and am having problems with Android Auto.

As mobile reception is patchy in this part of the world, I like to download playlists from Amazon Music to my phone (Honor 10) when at home and then play in the car via Bluetooth.
This works pretty well but control via the car is limited to next track, previous track, pause. I cant see any way to navigate to a new playlist other than stopping and fiddling around with the phone.

After reading about Android Auto I thought that this would be the answer to my prayers, downloaded the app onto my phone and set it all up according to the on screen instructions.
It seemed to work tolerably well but suffered from freezing, odd random stoppages and other annoyances.
I assumed that this was down to poor reception and tried to get the Amazon music app to play my downloaded playlists.
However, there doesn’t appear to be any way to access my offline music via the car app.

Has anyone managed to do this?
What am I doing wrong?
Russ
