Default End of my c30 d5

Had my c30 d5 for nearly 2 years and spent a lot of time and money getting it how I wanted apart from wheel a refurb which was booked in.

Then my wife taking the kids to school and someone pulled out with no where to go and that was the end for it already been wrote off.

As long as your wife and children were OK and the car protected them from injury, then it has done all that could be asked of it, Daniel.

A car can be replaced; your family cannot. Hopefully the offending driver has accepted liability for the accident and is fully insured. Were the Police involved; charged the third party of any offence?

Regards, John.

My wife and son are abit bruised and shook up but will be fine thank you.

The man admitted it straight away to my wife the police and his insurance they called us later on saying he admitted to it and they sorted us a higher car.

So on with the search for a replacement.

Daniel

Sorry to hear and I'm sure the family are shook up, but as said above: the car did it's job. Good luck with finding its replacement.

Appreciate that thank you, they offered us £1869 for the car but I’m challenging it at the moment saying I can’t get anything close for that price so just sent them some examples of similar cars which are £3000+.

So hopefully they will come back with abit more.

But my wife is thinking she wants a different car maybe a 1 series bmw saying another Volvo will never be the same and we will always compare it to the other one. Which to be fair I probably will 😀

Smile insurance

No surprise on your insurer.. they want to offer as little as they can get away with.. keep haggling and research on similar cars very useful, D5 C30s are pretty rare also see quite a few that are autos, you should be able to get them up at least 20% ..

Well having walked away from one accident ild be counting my chickens.. and c30s are built like small tanks.. would never choose a bm over a volvo on that score only those swayed by image might , but when it comes to a crunch volvo everytime

I have sent them a few examples of similar ones on auto trader and told them it’s a rare engine one so fingers crossed they offer abit more money.

We were looking at changing it next year to be honest as the kids are struggling with no rear doors but Volvos are really holding there value so not sure if I can afford a v40 or similar as my wife wants a small car again as we have an xc90 as the family car.

Just a quick update they have agreed to give us some more money for ours after sending over a couple of examples they have agreed to value it at £3743 so another £1800 on top which I’m very pleased with so on with the search.

They have also agreed to the higher car for another week which is a bonus
