Default Rear seat catch.

How much fun is replacing the lift-up release catch for dropping the back seat?
1991 , 245.
Just lifted it and the plastic lift bit broke!

Oops! Wrong section! Sorry.

Not hard at all. A bit fiddly but nothing terrible, new ones are available.

Try to lube the mechanism at each end of the seat, so that the handle doesn’t break again.

Cheers

This video will give you an idea how it goes together- basically pop the trim off, then there are two screws to undo to separate it from the seat back. It’ll be a bit fiddly to take off the two wires and reattach onto the new one, but not too bad.

Then here’s a replacement

Cheers
