Insurance, Aviva, for me says, "Sorry, your car is not valid for cover", so that is the end of that.
[modern vernacular mode on]Sack them off and find someone who will cover you, surely/[off]

I guess I just do not want to be left trying to work out how to remove it later if more insurance companies get awkward.

Surprised to see roof rack on the list, am I supposed to change my insurance each time I put on the roof rack?

it will need a software download to remove the polestar optimisation , Most insurance companies don't add anything , but be clear to them what it actually is , they probably think it adds 100 bhp ... explain the safety and other aspects of the Polestar optimisation package such as gearbox etc.

Aviva are fully computerised now, so no humans to explain too.

I selected '0-10 HP improvement', not allowed, so tried 'tuning', no go, there was even one for engine software management changes, again no go.

I think they have been exhaustively complete, I mean what is a 'sissy bar', but aside from a few simple things like tow-bar and roof-rack, I think 'the computer says no'.

I imagine fully computerised is the way of the future, so I would be left shopping for insurance in a decreasing pool of specialist insurers.

I am not bothered about a little more speed, or the drift function, just things like not jumping around the gears so freely, the sort of thing Volvo should have sorted for themselves tbh.

I use a broker to do the legwork for me. Worth asking, perhaps, especially if you would like it done.

You can talk to a human if you want.
"Please call us on 0800 092 3615 to discuss if you are unsure if your vehicle has been modified."

It may just be that your profile/specific vehicle has bumped you out of the routine quotes. I had to call my insurer to talk it through; they checked with their underwriter and confirmed the offer.

Today I have conversation with my insurance Hastings and they told me if i go for polestar they will not insure my car and i have to look somewhere else.

What are you choosing in modification in your insurance quote?
