The standard air intake on my 940 was from the front of the engine bay, I cut out a section - which was pretty obvious and there was a purpose made connection to the outside from the side of the box - take your air box out and have a look.
I also removed the foam as it can disintegrate over time, all it does is dampen noise so best remove it before it causes a problem. You do get a bit more wastegate noise but its not too noticeable and certainly not boy racer at all. I also had a good research and unless your are running monster power theres little point in changing the standard air box.
