No, No, Never ever do that... that bearing flange has to sit with full contact against its seat . you don't want it all coming loose in 5 years time and causing an accident when you have forgotten all about it .

update on this..

original readings before I started this thread:

after the chat above I changed the rear shocks anyway because I figured it wouldn't do any harm

I didn't get another test done until last week because I knew I was replacing the whole front end and it had to go back on the machine anyway

so now after that simple change of shocks only and nothing else (except arguably the new front suspension affects the way it sits) the rear camber issue has gone away:

incidentally I finally got around the fitting my camber bolts up front and they obviously did the trick

I may get the rear left toe tweaked again at some point but I'm thinking of new springs at the rear early next year and that will completely finish me off for suspension work so may as well leave it for now

I replaced my rear shocks at the weekend too and it now drives much better. One of them would compress but not extend again.

I think some of the rear bushes may flag on the MOT but theyre not torn yet, just slightly cracking in the rubber when unloaded/twisted.

I like the idea of building up a new subframe off the car and fitting in one go.
